20161208 Newsletter
As I think about the true meaning of Christmas I'm overwhelmed at the goodness of God and all He is doing in me, for me and through me in Rwanda.
In me: God is teaching me that my identity comes from Him, not from anything else. I'm realizing that many of the prayers I've prayed for years are redundant because God has already made me perfect in Him and has given me all that He can give me when I was born again. It's just a matter of believing it and walking in it.
For me: God has faithfully protected me here on the back of motorcycles, while driving school vehicles, from sickness and disease, from the attacks of the enemy and everything else that theatens His work and plan at KICS. He has faithfully provided everything I need through all of you who have given so generously in prayer, care and support. Without this I would not be able to fulfill God's calling on my life.
Through me: My students are growing spiritually and in English skills. As I get to know them and their individual stories, I am so thankful for God's goodness to them. I will introduce you to some of my students in future newsletters: a 10th grade Korean boy with Asperger's Syndrome, a 9th grade Indian boy who was raised in the Congo and is Hindu, a 10th grade Burundi girl who is a refugee. I am totally blessed by them. I think I enjoy the class more than they do!!
