New opportunities to serve. A new birth (20230401 Newsletter)
Well, it’s official; I’m a senior. For “ladies’ day” in my church in Jinja, I received a large fruit basket for being the oldest woman in my church of about 300 people. They even helped me carry it back to my seat. I was honored and humbled at the same time. I got to share the basket with the mother of two former Welcome Home children. The three are staying in the dorm room next to mine.
The only place to sit was with Bob a young man in his 20s with dreadlocks and a gentle face. We got to talking and I shared the Gospel with him. He was interested but not yet ready to give his life to Christ. He then went with me to Bible Study during the week. Before the meeting, I shared with him more and he gave his life to Christ. He is now active in his Bible study group. Please pray for Bob and his spiritual growth. He also badly needs a job.

Hannah teaches the low-reading class |
When other girls her age are freshmen at universities, thinking about
getting married, or getting a job, Hannah has a call to missions. She chose to
obey the Lord and come to Uganda. Hannah just turned 18, left everything
familiar and came all the way from Germany. Inspite her youth, she is a
tremendous blessing to both Welcome Home orphanage and the villages we serve.
Our classes are growing. I am now training three new teachers and we will have two more classes including a new English class. Anthony will be our new Christian Basics teacher. He is from Kamigo village, and has been serving the Lord for a long time. Anthony has the basic Bible knowledge to answer new believer’s questions.
Ahh… the last meeting of the Basics Class. Anthony will teach the next group of students with Josephine and myself assisting him.

Lord and shows it in her service to Him. She teaches a reading class and will
also teach an English class.
Some of you asked for some pictures of my

On March 8 at 2:30 am, an intruder entered my house and
stole my laptop and cell phone. I praise God that I didn’t wake up, otherwise, he would have hit me in the head with the brick lying beside my bed. Nothing
else was taken. Pray for this intruder because he needs Jesus. A generous donor
(without knowing) provided funds to replace these things. God always provides!
