Greetings from hot and muggy Uganda!
It has been in the low 80s with high humidity since I returned.

Going with Josephine (Basics Class teacher) and Betty (reading teacher) to the villages I was SO IMPRESSED!!  These ladies are doing a terrific job teaching.

What I saw today was amazing. I saw people laughing and having fun learning to read in Betty's class. I watched ladies strutting home proudly, feeling good about themselves because they are learning to read for the first time.

I listened to people engaged in deep discussion in Josephine's class and asking important questions. Everyone was learning more about Jesus and everyone was enjoying class.

Each Wednesday, I lead a Bible study for the pastors and church leaders of two villages. Today I received a fantastic report from Pastor Mawa of Lwambogo village. He told us three people came to know Jesus as Savior and Lord on Sunday. The first was an alcoholic and a wife beater. His wife had been praying for his salvation for a long time. He finally came to church with her and gave his life to Jesus. The second man had received Christ as Savior years before but had gone back to the world and sinful living. He also confessed His sin and came back to the loving arms of Jesus. The third also had a Christian wife. He decided that day to give his life to the Lord. All three are committed to go through the Christian Basics Class and grow as new believers. This excites me.

Welcome Home kids are growing so fast. Some have “graduated” to a children’s home for children 6-18 years and new ones have come.

Last August, I mentioned a Karomoga man I shared the Gospel with (on the right). He has returned to Jinja. I’m looking for an opportunity to share with him again.

Two years ago, I shared about Stephen who I found lying beside the road in much pain. I took him to the hospital and paid for his surgery. I saw him again last week. He had completely healed and has his own boda-boda business.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I am so grateful for your love, involvement in this ministry financially, and your prayers.
