A Crusade and a visit to the States (20221101 Newsletter)

Dear Friends and Family,

I love what I do! After 3 years of investing time and energy in training, teaching, discipleship and outreach, my teachers are “doing the stuff”. Some of them have “graduated” and are ready to train others. It brings me great joy to watch those I have trained share the Gospel with others and led them to Christ. Their Christian life is never the same after they become responsible for a new believer.

We conducted a 2-day crusade in the village. I spoke in the children’s section. Lots of new commitments to Jesus.

Our kids at Welcome Home are doing well. Several are getting ready for permanent families in the States. They are excited! Please pray for smooth and quick government processing in both countries.

Welcome Home has lots of local interns and foreign volunteers to love on the children and help around the home.

The new medical clinic is open! Lwambogo and surrounding villages now have access to good medical care. This is another opportunity to share the love of Jesus with a needy world. The Gospel will also be presented in word and deed.

Ministry continues while I’m in the States. While my teachers are busy in Uganda, I’m able to do a little ministry in the States as God gives me opportunity. Several days ago, I went to Calvary Chapel Bible School to hear my nephew teach. After the class, a couple of students approached me. The first was a young lady:

“So, you’re a missionary in Uganda?”

        “Yes”

“God has also called me to Uganda to serve him as a missionary”

        “That’s terrific!”

“I don’t know what steps to take”

“Do you like working with little kids?”

        “I love little kids”

“When you are ready call this number (my director)”

After her a young man approached me saying he has a call on his life to be a missionary and wanted to know what steps to take. I talked with him awhile. His passion for the Lord inspired me. God has a great plan for these young people and for each of us.  I would love to visit them 10 years from now.

I would love to have lunch or a soda with you or a phone call. My number while I’m in the States is: 760-6255-336. I will be speaking in several churches while I’m here and I have some of my books if you want one. I plan to return to Uganda mid-December to spend the Christmas season at Welcome Home. Lots of fun stuff is planned for the children and staff!

Isn’t God awesome?
