Changing the World-One new believer at a time (20220801 Newsletter)

My days have been filled with incredible opportunity for doing the things I love to do best: teacher training and evangelism.

A certain elderly gentleman (I can’t pronounce or write his name) from Northern Uganda sits outside our housing complex every day making rakes out of palm fonts to sell in the marketplace for a few cents each. Today I was led to talk with him about Christ. Wycliff (one of our employees who works as a guard) came out to see what was going on. He had told me previously, he had never led someone to Christ but wanted to. This day the Karamoja had a friend with him who was able to translate his language. Wycliff explained the Gospel (with my help) to the friend who translated it to the Karamoja. This precious elderly man expressed a desire to commit his life to Christ. Well, just when we were about to pray with him, the translator friend walked away. He said he would be back but never returned. We trust God will bring someone to lead him to Christ

As we were waiting for the translator to return, a young man (Meshach) approached and told me he heard us talking about the Gospel and wanted to be born again. Wycliff again shared the Gospel, this time with the younger man who prayed with Wycliff to receive Christ as Savior. Please pray for this young man.  He lives far away so we are unable to meet with him, but Wycliff got his contact information and will keep in touch.

I woke up Monday morning to the sound of tear gas canisters being exploded by the local police against protesters. There has been a 3-day nationwide strike to protest the rising costs of fuel and food. This is a worldwide problem, but Ugandans are especially suffering. I got a text message from a friend saying he would kill himself and his children because they have no food. The world needs Jesus.

Here are some recent pictures of happy kids!
