New Believers, confession and repentance and a Moslem who never heard of Jesus NL 20210901

 Yesterday I had this conversation with my boda driver:

“Are you born-again?”
“No, I’m a Moslem”
<pause>
“What do you think about Jesus?”
“I don’t know. I never heard of Jesus”
“Are you serious? You never heard of Jesus?”
“No. I grew up in a Moslem home”

 Since I was almost home and my boda driver had another customer, I had about 20 seconds to tell him about Jesus. I almost cried. Twenty seconds is not enough time to reveal the greatest entity in eternity to someone who has never heard of him. He asked if he could come back to talk about Jesus with me. I look forward to his visit.

 Another busy month: I’m so thankful God chooses to use me in spite of my faults and weaknesses! Here are a few highlights:

  •  I continue teaching our church group on Sundays. I enjoy getting them past the whos and whats of Scripture to the whys and hows of Scripture. I enjoy watching them grow in the knowledge and use of God’s Word.
  • More than ten people have asked to go through “Freedom in Christ” by Neil Anderson (a step by step manual that progresses through various areas of one’s life leading to confession and repentance of sin). Since each person takes 3-4 hours to complete it, I trained Simon to help me. He also helps me with the follow-up of new believers.

Last week I went through the material with a family of five ladies. The two senior ladies spoke no English and two of the younger ladies were blind. The one seeing woman read it orally to one of the blind ladies who translated it into Luganda. The blessing was seeing them come to full confession and repentance of sin.

I will be in California from 10/28-12/15 (YEAH!).

The two things I really miss are fellowship and group Bible study (I have it here but I always lead it!)

  •         I would love to see you and spend a little time together doing something fun (hey, I really need this!) or a few nights if you have space for me.
  •        Would anyone like me to speak in your church, fellowship, Sunday School?
  •        Does anyone have a car I can use for any of this time?
