Dear Family and Friends,

Praise God that no matter what goes on in the world around us, He is in control. Although God has loosened satan’s leash and allowed him to work havoc in our world for a time, God has a plan in it all and it will all work out for His glory and our good.

I’m so thankful for open hearts here in Uganda. A few days ago, I asked a young construction worker if he was born again. He replied, “Not yet. I want to be but I’m waiting for someone to explain it clearly so I can understand.” I shared the truths of what it means to become a Christian and he left with a lot to think about.

Today I asked a motorcycle taxi man (boda boda) his name. After responding with a Muslim name, he asked my name. When I told him, he asked, “You want to convert me to Christian?” I thought… and replied, “Yes”. We had a nice talk about Jesus and His claims, and I left him with the Gospel and a decision to make.

I had the honor of leading a two-day workshop on forgiveness with my local church. People freely opened their hearts, confessing their anger toward others and gaining freedom through forgiveness.  I will complete this same workshop with the staff at Welcome Home this Wednesday (tomorrow). This coming Sunday I will lead an evangelism workshop at my church.

The children at Welcome Home are doing well. Besides the excursions to the cargo ship and the bakery, I have taken them on tours to a shipyard, post office, library, police station, and a local restaurant. The exposure to Ugandan culture helps prepare them for adoption.

Things are pretty busy at the visitor’s quarters (Welcome Home Ministries, Africa-Ling Ling House) as the place is getting a major facelift. I stay in the back building.

A while back a 17-year-old homeless boy approached me. He appeared as though he hadn’t eaten in quite a while. The question he asked broke my heart. “Musungu, will you adopt me?” The physical and spiritual need is great in Uganda. I’m so thankful God uses me in a small way.

Be Blessed and know I am grateful for your interest, prayers, and support of this ministry!

Janet
