Dear Family and Friends,
God has shown His faithfulness and love to me again this last month:

  • ·       Sunday, 1/31, (during Sunday service in my Ugandan church) I shared about breaking mental strongholds. There was such a positive response and critical need that the Lord led me to do a five-week workshop on the topic. The feedback I’m getting is that it is life changing. Learning how to discern the truth from lies and taking every thought captive is the life message God has given me and I have a burden to share it as much as I can and see the need.

  • ·       Wednesday, 2/3, I was burdened to pray for a young man in our church who was a new Christian. He had just come out of Islam and was experiencing what the locals referred to as the “spirit of Islam”. He was unable to talk but rather just stared straight ahead. I brought our church leadership with me and we prayed over him. He began to speak enough to renounce all involvement in Islam and confess his sin. He then made a positive confession of his faith in Christ. Today, he has a big smile on his face, is interacting with others and is thankful for God’s deliverance. Please pray for Zion as he learns to grow in Christ. He faithfully attends the breaking mental strongholds workshop.

  • ·       On 2/10 I was privileged to share the gospel with a Moslem man. He agreed with every key point of salvation until I asked if he believed Jesus rose from the dead. He had a problem with this. I had to stop the conversation because the resurrection is key to salvation.

  • ·       Thursday, 2/11, I began the series on breaking mental strongholds. It is a multi-media presentation I am developing week by week. Lots of positive feedback. The attendees were surprised when I asked them to bring Bibles. (Bibles are something Ugandans are often not used to bringing or using in church.)

  • ·       Monday, 2/15, I was run over by a motorcycle. (I guess satan is “annoyed” with me!). He hit me straight on, fell off his bike, then picked it up and took off. I came out with some scrapes and bruises. (God really protected me. At my age and physical condition I should have had broken bones, a broken head or something else. I am so grateful!)

  • ·       Saturday, 2/20, I shared with a couple of ladies about forgiveness after they shared their stories and the difficulty they were having in forgiving family members. As I was sharing, I realized several more people were listening in. I found that most Christians know they must forgive but most don’t know how to forgive. This may be my next message after the breaking mental strongholds series.

Welcome Home is doing well. The children are healthy and emotionally stable and happy. Several are in the middle of the adoption process.
