February 2021 Newsletter
Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I have been
blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Eph. 1:3)
After a two-week quarantine with Covid-19, I had a one-week
political quarantine during the Ugandan presidential elections to stay safe
from riots and protests. I was in isolation from
Dec. 23-Jan. 17 but I’m glad to be back in ministry and service.
I’ve
started a Bible discussion group for some people in my church. We had thought provoking fellowship as we
meditated on Luke chapter 1 together. Some questions we discussed:
·
Why did the angel Gabriel respond differently to
Mary than he did Zachariah?
·
Most of the people in Nazareth were Mary’s
relatives. Do you think they believed her story? Why or why not?
·
What do you think Mary’s village thought of her
(being pregnant without a husband)?
·
How was this difficult for her and her family?
What other difficulties did Mary and Joseph experience?
These
questions are very culturally relevant to my group, most of them
growing up in African villages similar to Mary and Joseph. I look forward to
watching our people grow in the grace of our Lord.
Next week I will begin a
Bible class for Welcome Home staff. They
have been asking for one and I’m thankful that we can finally begin. The
children’s classes are in full swing with our academic teacher being back from
maternity leave and I’m back from quarantine. I enjoy teaching nine children’s
classes and two staff classes each week. I look forward to this time with the
children and staff and they enjoy the classes. They run to them each day.
Today (Sunday) I will do a
short teaching in my church on breaking mental strongholds and thought patterns.
This is a message God has used to change me personally. He has given me this
life message for His people and I’m excited and privileged to teach it.
Personally, I’m so thankful to be back in ministry. Since
I’m leading two Bible studies each week and have my own time in the Word (both
audio and book), I’m growing in the knowledge of Him. I continue to walk uphill
one mile each day for health. I love what God is doing in me and through me.
My autobiography (ebook) is now available through the
websites of Amazon, Walmart ebooks and Goodreads. The paperbook print is
available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
