WOW! This month I’ve witnessed and been a part of a whirlwind of love in action in Uganda. We had 3 groups come to the children’s home including a dental team that fixed all the teeth of the children and staff at Welcome Home. Two other groups came to love on the kids and do some special projects. Couples and families were there going through the adoption proceedings. It was great to see children with adoptive families bonding and having fun.

Welcome Home kids are happy, healthy and well adjusted. In fact I saw a small child with its family screaming in public in the States and I commented, “He needs to go to Welcome Home and get some joy!”

I’m staying in a room at Kingdom Life Training Center with my cat. She belonged to a former volunteer who stayed in my room-so of course the room is hers! I’m near some dear friends I’ve known for decades. God has answered your prayers about my loneliness.

God is doing great things in my life and ministry. I’m excited about doing some teacher training with Victor. We will work together to develop an English conversation program for the Welcome Home and Kingdom Life staff and also for the village that will glorify God and improve the lives of our children, staff and those in the village. I also look forward to working with Pastor John on developing simple and basic Bible studies and devotions for the staff at Welcome Home.

I’m in the States right now and I’d love to connect with you. I’ll  be in Orange County, California until August 4 then I will spend a week up at Forest Home. I’ll be celebrating my 50th birthday as God’s child on August 2, so I want to spend some time with Him. On August 9 I will be in the California desert for a few weeks. I can’t wait to see you!

Some prayer needs:
1.   Uganda’s fostering policies (the government wants to close all the children’s homes which would put many children in an unsafe or unhealthy situation)
2.   A car for me to use while in the States (until mid-September)
3.   My transition from Rwanda to Uganda
