Dear
Friends and Family,
Let me share how
awesome God is! To
confess I’ve been down for a little while. Having Asperger’s Syndrome and not
having the skills to connect or build real relationships with others takes its
toll and leaves me lonely and feeling alienated most of the time. (Do I say
this in every newsletter?)
God knows all this and
sent me encouragement. Several of you have contacted me in the last few days saying God has
put me on your heart. I even heard from an old Korean friend I worked with in
South Korea.
Then a co-worker (art teacher at KICS) sent me this poster made by Karl,
the German boy I taught last year. (OK, I cried when I saw this!) The
assignment was to create a documentary poster advertising an imaginary film.
My students this year are amazing. I already
have grown to love them. Let me introduce you to JuHwang Sung, an 8th
grader from South Korea. His parents sent him alone to Rwanda just to be in my
ELL class to learn English. He stays with an aunt who teaches music at KICS.
Here is his self introduction:
Please pray for JuHwang. On the first day of school he announced to the
class that he was an atheist. His English is poor but he works hard and will do
well. I’m so privileged to work with him this year.
I’m so grateful for your faithful support in prayer, encouragement and
in finances.
Prayer requests:
·
JuHwang
Sung (and all my students)
·
KICS
(This is an accreditation year with ACSI so everyone is busy getting everything
in order)
·
Me!
