Dear Family and Friends,
Yes. I'll stay with
you, I'll protect you wherever you go, and I'll bring you back to this very
ground. I'll stick with you until I've done everything I promised
you." (Gen 28:15 MSG)
I can’t begin to tell you what a joy it is to see all of you
and to hear about what God is doing in everyone’s lives. I have been encouraged
by your prayers, support, love and friendship. People have been very generous
to me, some offering prayer, some giving finances, some offering places to
stay, others helping me get all the things on my shopping list, all making me
feel at home and welcoming me back. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have mixed feelings as I think about returning to Rwanda
in a couple of weeks. In one way I feel sad and I will miss you and all the
friends I have made in the US. Yet I’m also filled with anticipation. This year
at KICS will bring changes for sure. First of all, our school will have a new
principal for secondary students. Next, my department (learning support center)
will grow from 3 staff to 5 staff. We will be joined by a fulltime occupational
therapist and another special education teacher to help serve the primary
students. I will continue working with secondary students (grade 6-12) in
English language learning. Our school is also seeking to renew accreditation
through ACSI (association of Christian schools international). This means a lot
of work for teachers and staff.
I’m excited about meeting the new students God has for me. I
will also have a few returning students: 1 12th grader (KangHee), 1
10th grader (Jin), and 1 7th grader (Danny). Pray for
them, the new students and for me as I get ready to leave the desert July 24th
and fly out July 26th. Pray that I will be ready physically,
mentally and spiritually and that God would be glorified in me.
Thank you for your love, prayers, friendship and financial support.
Love,
Janet
