Grateful From Rwanda-20171012 Newsletter

The Kingfisher resort was a great place for a young people's retreat.

Dear Friends and family,

Thanks for praying! I asked for prayer last week for a speaking engagement I had at the young people's retreat connected with one of the churches I attend. I was asked to share my testimony and when I asked how long it should be, the text message was 2 hours! (I was expecting 10 minutes). As usual, when you pray, God answers. I've seen this again and again. Thanks for praying!

The talk was given around a campfire and other than fashion errors (I didn't realize I needed a belt for the pants I was wearing. During the talk I ended up continually pulling up pants that were literally falling off of me and eventually kept them up with my left hand!), time adjustments (the time was cut from 2 hours to 50 minutes right before the talk) and tech problems with a device my notes were on, it went well. People were challenged and encouraged to serve God and trust Him completely with their futures.

Some of the "youth" at the retreat. (In Africa a "youth" is someone aged 20-35). Younger ones are called "teens".

My year at KICS is going well. I have great students I will tell you about in future newsletters. Two of them are returning students I am so thankful to teach again: Kanghee from South Korea (now 11th grade) and Karl from Germany (now 7th grade)

Please pray for East Africa.

In Uganda: Witch doctors are performing human sacrifice with children apparently to gain wealth and health.

In Rwanda: A political activist who ran in the last political election against President Paul Kagame is facing trial for insurrection and forgery.
