April 5, 2017 Newsletter
Dear Family and Friends,
I am so grateful for your continued love, prayer and support. A big thank you to all who contributed to my packages. What a blessing! I will enjoy these things for a long time.
We are winding down to the last weeks of school. It has been a busy year. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this summer.
This week (April 7) begins the 10 day memorial of the Rwandan genocide which killed over 1,000,000 people in 100 days. It is a very sobering time for the nation. I pray that as Easter aproaches people will realize that death is not the end for those who hope in Christ Jesus.
KICS is paying for me to attend a Christian school teacher's conference in Kenya during that time. Afterward, I will spend a few days of rest and snorkeling in Mombasa (coastal city in Kenya). I'm looking forward to extended time with God.
I want to introduce 2 more of my students. Meet Rwandan siblings Sory (left-7th grade) and Reine (right-9th grade). Because of tribal discrimination and genocide, their parents fled to Uganda and started a life there. When it was safe, the family returned to Rwanda like other Rwandans who love their country. The mother has since died leaving them with only a father who has established himself in Uganda where he lives and works. Reine and Sory live together with 5 siblings who are being raised by a 17 year old sister. They are great kids who need extra love and attention which only a mother or father can give. I pray for Sory that he would know the Father's love in a real, personal, healing way.
Thank you for praying!
• A personal relationship with God for all my students.
• Traveling grace and protection.
• Health and healing
