Busy as a one armed wall paper hanger!-20161017 Newsletter

Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you so much for your love and support. I can’t tell you how important it is for missionaries to know someone is at home loving them, supporting them and praying for them.

This last month has been especially difficult for me. I’ve been as busy as a “one-armed wall paper hanger” as my Mom would say. Besides creating curriculum for myself and co-worker, I’m teaching, writing individual progress plans for each student, meeting with each teacher of each student (6 each), arranging for parent conferences, having my first evaluation and just trying to keep my head above water.  There is so much to do but I feel so blessed to be a part of it-impacting tomorrow’s leaders for the Gospel.

God reminded me of a fateful day 21 years ago when I went scuba diving and got stuck in the wave zone. The waves kept picking me up and throwing me down for about 5 minutes. I had to be rescued by the lifeguards. James chap.1 talks about a person with divided thoughts is like a wave of the sea. He was telling me through those verses to surrender all my concerns to Him. As soon as I did, I had peace.

God has blessed me with a friend here. Carrie has lived in Rwanda for 6 years and is also a new teacher at KICS. She is the pre-school head. Last Sunday we went to Mille Colline (in the movie “Hotel Rwanda”) to relax. It was nice! It’s had a facelift since, so it is hard to recognize. We also got stuck in an elevator together! The elevator got stuck between floors then the electric and lights went out. Such fun! She speaks Kinyarwanda and knows everyone in Kigali. WOW! God has answered your prayers for a friend. Thanks! Merakozi!

I also found a pharmacy that carries ALL my medications (I take 3 each day)-Another answered prayer. The medical insurance we have through the school covers 100% of our medical needs, so, I’m blessed again. One of my 10th graders likes to hear me say, “YEAH!” so…. YEAH!!

I love serving the God of the Universe! It’s outrageous!

Thanks for praying: My health: blood sugar and blood pressure way up.

Blessed 2 Bless,
