China: Bible Talk
7/4/12: To supplement my income I have been giving English lessons through Skype. Recently I've been getting Moslems from the Middle East who want to study English but have no way to pay me.
I got an idea and began telling Moslems that I am offering "Bible Talk" a free English conversation class where we talk about who Jesus is from the Bible. People began to call me from all over the world to help them with English. About 90% of them were from Muslim countries. I’ve had calls from Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Algeria, Afghanistan, UAE and Turkey, as well as about every other Muslim country on the globe.
I openly share the Gospel and what the Bible says about Jesus Christ. The topic is always “What is God like?” from the Gospel of John. Our group is growing and becoming more open and honest with their questions. They join to practice English conversation, they join because they’re lonely, they join because they want to learn about other cultures, they join because their friends have joined.
All learn about the God who loves them and died for them. I may never meet my Skype friends or visit their countries, but we are growing close. Some see me as their second Mom. They call me when they have a problem or need prayer. Even the most devout Moslems will not turn away Christian prayer to the Christian God. For most of them, it is the only chance they will have to hear the Gospel or talk with a Christian. Many of them call back often to talk more about Jesus. Two of them have committed their lives to Jesus Christ.
