Uganda: "Musungu, I want to receive Christ
8/6/2005: Last Saturday I went to Kikondo with Justine. As I approached the village tears welled up in my eyes as I realized I was back with in the village I love. Walking on the ground in the village I felt a peace I haven’t had for many, many months. I felt as if this is where I belong. This is my village. When I stepped out of the boat, something interesting happened. A Moslem man walked up to me with tears in his eyes and said, “Msungu, I want to receive Christ”. I explained the gospel and right then and there he prayed with me to receive Christ in front of his Moslem friends. I walked up the hill with Justine and I met the next generation of children all eager to hear my Bible story. Some of the people remember me from 8 years ago. Yes, it’s been 8 years. I have been to many places in that time but my heart has always been in Africa especially in this village. The RC that prayed with me to receive Christ 8 years ago suddenly died in his sleep and the pastor who worked with me died of a leg infection about a year ago. Life is hard in the village. I want to be a blessing to them.
