Uganda: God's power in a Muslim village (Kikondo)

7/12/1996: Mike (a volunteer who came to help us in the babies' home) and I went to Kikondo.  Over 100 kids came as well as 12 adults for the adult Bible study which was started at their request.

When we arrived we saw a long line of Moms with their small sick children. I asked our translator what was happening in the village. He replied, "Oh, I forgot to tell you. There is an epidemic in the village and these Moms want you to pray for their children and heal them." I replied, "I don't do healing. You want Benny Hinn". I then realized that if I didn't pray for them, they would be insulted because some had come far for prayer. This would not be love. If I prayed and God didn't heal the children, the Mom's would say the Christian God has no power. (They were mostly Muslim). I decided to pray very simply and let God sort it out and do what He wants to do.

Mike and I went down the line, praying for every baby (about 40) We prayed for each one trusting God to do what He knew to be best. I felt a woman’s spine come into alignment as we prayed for her. A little boy received deliverance.  The next week I learned that God had healed every child we prayed for. Afterwards Mike and I went to supper and led the waiter to the Lord. Praise God!
