East Los Angeles: Summer Servants East LA: the fruit of obedience

6/1/1983: God led me to have a summer servant program at my Light and Life Chapel church with our Jr/Sr high. I told the Lord I would do it if He would lead the whole thing. The results were incredible. The Jr/Sr high had VBS and evening services in El Porvineer, Mexico where the servants did everything including worship and preach for the service. We also had a jr. camp for the elementary kids of the school. The servants served as camp counselors, athletic directors, Bible study leaders and speakers. God poured out His Spirit as one by one first the servants then the campers shared in tears what God was doing in their lives as a results of summer servants. They also spent several days at home working at church and doing inner city ministry. It was awesome and it made me so glad I obeyed the Lord and stayed at my church. 

Results of Summer Servants: The Jr/Sr high are serving as Sunday School teachers, developing QTs on their own, they have quit playing church and become more serious about God, wanting God's best in their lives, one received Christ as Savior and is growing in Him. One guy attempted suicide 2 weeks before servants and was completely changed during the summer. I have never seen God use me like this before and as a result have grown closer to God than I've ever been before.
