East Los Angeles: Commitment to Christ is commitment to His church

1/1/1982: Because of church problems and the fact that I wasn't growing in my church, I planned to leave and change churches. 

God spoke to my heart and said that a commitment to Him is a commitment to His church. He didn't give up on the church so why should I. I was to love the church just as Jesus does. He then led me to make a full commitment to my small church in East LA even though I felt I had nothing to offer and wasn't really needed. Since then God has used me in very special ways:     

1) I organized a Kids Klub for neighborhood kids and trained the youth of the church to run it and do all the work. Lots of kids received Christ and began attending the church as a result.       

2) I organized Christmas caroling at the local hospital and other places for my class.     

3) The church youth passed out tracts at the mall.                                                                                   4)I discipled a guy named William who I led to Christ. He ended up leading a Bible study on his campus at Wilson high school and was one of the leaders there. He has led several kids to Christ and is discipling them.  
                                                                              5) I directed the spiritual emphasis week for the elementary school.
